I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters, a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the stories running through her brain.

I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked. I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy!

I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it.

Blog Tour! Devil in Duke's Clothing by Nina Mason

Devil in Duke’s Clothing, an erotic historical romance by Nina Mason, tells the story of an innocent bride's struggles to adapt to her new husband’s eccentric erotic tastes amidst the instability and hedonism of the reign of Charles II. The book is the latest by Nina Mason, the author of The Queen of Swords and The Tin Man. Book One in the Royal Pains Trilogy, Devil in Duke's Clothing is highly erotic and features scenes of voyeurism, bondage, flagellation, and a voyeuristic menage.

Available in e-book and paperback. Buy it now!

Here's the blurb:

Maggie York, a convent-raised foundling, knows the Duke of Dunwoody’s sexual tastes are a shade or two darker than normal, but marries him anyway—partly because she has no other prospects and partly because, try as she might, she can’t seem to exorcize her desire for the dashing ducal devil. Two years ago, she watched him swive and spank her lady's maid, luring her from the garden of innocence into the orchard of fleshly delights--and she's been hungry for more ever since.

Robert Armstrong, the duke, is a Roman Catholic whose extreme devotions as a child warped his desires as a man. He’s also a slave to the times in which he lives--and to his king. Everything he is, everything he holds dear, depends on staying in Charles II’s good graces. Unfortunately, Maggie isn't the bride the king selected for him. Now, to make amends, the duke must choose between the lesser of two evils: whore his wife or be reduced to a penniless commoner.

Whose interests will Robert choose to serve, his own, the king’s, or the woman he loves?

Here's the trailer (18+ only, please):

Here's an excerpt:

The duke pushed the sleeves off her shoulders and halfway down her arms before about-facing her. Stooping, he pressed his mouth to her décolletage.

His lips were deliciously warm and moist against the bulging tops of her flattened bosoms. His hair tickled her flesh in a pleasing sort of way and smelled faintly of lavender.

He moved upward, kissing her collarbone, her throat, the side of her neck, and her earlobe. After blowing in her ear, he whispered in a voice like velvet, “Why did you marry me, knowing what you knew?”

A hot lump formed at her core. “Because.”

He ran his tongue around the folds of her ear, sending delicious shivers through her. “Because why?”

“Because you are a duke.” Mouth suddenly parched, she licked her lips.

“And you dreamed of being a duchess?”

“No.”

“Then why?”

“I would prefer not to say.”

“Why?”

“Because it will make me sound small and petty.”

His tongue’s explorations undermined her concentration. “Now I really must know.”

She heaved a sigh of surrender. “Survival, “ she said, forcing the half-truth from her throat. “Since you insist upon an answer, I married you because you asked me to…and I had nowhere else to turn for protection.”

His mouth returned to her neck and proceeded to kiss, lick, and nip her flesh, turning her insides to syrup.

“Thank you,” he said between kisses.

“For what?”

“Your candor.”

Guilt crushed her chest like a boulder. Yes, she’d married him to gain security, but she'd left out the part about lusting after him deep in her heart. She moved away, removed the full-sleeved bodice, and laid it over the bench at the foot of the bed.

He came up behind her, slipped his arms around her waist, and kissed the back of her neck, setting her aflame.

She spun in his embrace and looked at him. His dark hair tumbled in soft waves over his broad shoulders. His features were shadowed, making him look dangerous. The need she’d stuffed down for so long erupted from her core, thick and molten.

Bringing his mouth to hers, he kissed and nibbled her lips as his hands untied the strings of her petticoat. It billowed to the floor, leaving her in only her fancy wedding stays and shift.
“Now, ’tis my turn.”

Stepping back a wee ways, she pulled the diamond stick-pin from his cravat, loosened the knot, and unfurled the long strip of linen encircling his neck. Was it the same one he’d used to tie the maid’s hands?

“Why did you dismiss Mistress Honeywell?” she asked, letting his neck cloth slip from her fingers to the floor.

His beguiling mouth hitched into a crooked grin. “Had I known you’d seen me swive her, I could have saved myself the trouble—and a few sovereigns.”

“I’m sorry for your trouble, but do not regret her loss. Truth be known, I never liked her—though I do not doubt part of my aversion stemmed from what I witnessed.”

He lifted her chin, pulling her gaze to his. “Were you jealous, Rosebud?”

“Not at the time, but afterward, I resented her relationship with you.”

“There was no relationship. ‘Twas merely a one off.”

Unsure what to say in response, she unbuttoned his collar, opened the front of his shirt, and slipped both hands inside. As her fingertips met the warm, hair-garnished flesh of his chest, she nearly swooned.

How many times she had fantasized about touching him in this way. How much better he felt in real life—a pleasing quilt of smooth skin, solid bone and muscle, wiry hairs, and petal soft nipples. She pinched one until it grew erect.

“You feel good, husband” she said. “You are well put together.”

“It gets better.” He laughed.

“I know.” She blushed at the memory. “I saw everything you own that day in Mrs. McQueen’s closet.”

“And you married me anyway?”

“Oh, no. I married you because of it.”

The smile he gave her warmed her all the way down to her toes.

She swept her hands downward, shuddering when they touched the tartan draped around his hips. The wool was finely woven, soft. She brushed the apron, pleased to find he was aroused. So was she. Mightily.

Since that day in the closet, she’d pictured his hard phallus a thousand times—in her hand, her mouth, and her cunny, and now ’twas at last within grasp. She bent to unbuckle the belt circumnavigating his hips, but, changing her mind, reached underneath the curtain of plaid instead.

He sucked in a breath as she ran her hands up the backs of his thighs. They felt exactly as she’d dreamed they would. Lean, hard, and flocked in bristly hair. Would his phallus feel the way she’d imagined, too?

Do you want to watch something #hilarious that’ll make you pee your pants?

The other night after I finished watching one of my favorite shows—The Originals—Kevin waved me into the other room. “Do you want to watch something hilarious that’ll make you pee your pants?”

I glanced at his computer screen and saw that he had Monty Python up. Kevin is from England and is a Monty Python fan. I like Python, as well, but not as much as he does.

“I doubt I’ll pee my pants, but okay.” I sat down at his computer and here was what he had me watch. He was busting a gut as I watched it,  btw.

Okay, it was funny, but not to where I was doubled over in laughter and my sides were aching. I told him this, and then reminded him of the following scene from Duck Dynasty that had us in tears from laughing so hard. It still cracks us up.

And no . . . I didn't pee my pants, but I could of. J

Are You #Afraid Of #Offending People With Your #Stories And #Marketing?

I was thinking about what to blog about last night, and then Kevin told me they want to ban the words “pig” and “sausage” because it offends Muslims.

*shakes head*

Are you frickin’ kidding me?

This world is getting more and more ridiculous by the day. No, I don’t want to offend people, and I’m very cautious regarding other people’s feelings. In fact, I’m going to share a video with you that I created over a year ago to promote The Devil’s Third. It’s a cool video, but I decided at the time not to use it.

Why?

Because I was afraid it would offend Jews. However, those who have read my Beyond the Eyes trilogy will know that the dark spirits inhabited the Nazis, and in no way was I advocating the Nazi party. The video ties into my trilogy. I absolutely love history and everything I write has some sort of historical element in it and is thoroughly researched.

Anyway, I was thinking tonight about how easily people get offended nowadays. It seems to be getting worse. In the future, we might be restricted on what we say and how we run our business. I hope not, but that’s what it seems like.

I’ve been writing Ameerah’s story. She’s a dark spirit, btw, who wants to crossover and is seeking salvation. Ameerah has made appearances in Dark Spirits and The Devil’s Third and is a great character. She was born in 1907 and was a flapper girl in 1925 in New York. She’s also a lesbian. Her story takes the reader back to that time during prohibition and all the speakeasies in Harlem and Jungle Alley. It’s pretty awesome. I’ve been doing a ton of research to make the story authentic. I’ll be posting pictures of that time and doing a cover reveal any day now. I've been wondering though, if Ameerah being a lesbian will offend other people. There’s a sensual sex scene where she kisses and makes love to a girl for the first time in her life and finally admits to herself she’s gay.

Will it offend straight people?

Will people think I’m gay?

I live in a rural farming community of about 1,800 people. I wonder what they’ll think. It’s not like I purposely made Ameerah gay. Other authors will understand that the character “talks” to you. Ameerah told me she was gay.
I’ve talked to Kevin about this, and he advised me not to worry about it. Write the story (he's been bugging me to write her story for a year now). Don’t be afraid of offending readers. So that’s what I’m doing, and I decided that I’m no longer going to hide, because I love who I am. I’m considerate of others and if someone takes what I write or say the wrong way, so be it.

I remember reading about PETA getting all balled up in a knot over one of Stephen King’s stories where an animal dies. They totally bashed him. You know what Stephen’s response was?

It’s a story.

So do you ever worry about offending someone with your stories or how you market your books?

Here’s the video I mentioned. I might have shared it with you when I created it over a year ago, but I don't think I did. For those of you who know the German language, try to block out what they’re saying and read the script instead. I don’t speak German. I wish I did, but this video is cool, I think.

I Have A What In My #Breast?

This year started out . . . different. I’ve been having strange symptoms for a year now and been running a 101 fever, not to mention I’ve been feeling like crap. It started out as my left arm being constantly sore to where I couldn’t lay on it. I went to a physical therapy, because let’s face it; I sit on my ass a lot at my day job and when I’m at home writing and connecting with other people. So I thought my shoulder was jacked up because of the way I was sitting in my chair.

I was right.

The muscles in my shoulder were tight. The P.T. cured it; however, my arm still ached, and I still couldn’t lay on the dang thing, which is annoying because that’s the side I sleep on. Then I started experiencing a warming and tingling sensation on the left side of my chest and breast. It felt like something was growing inside it. The writer in me imagined an alien fetus slowly developing inside my chest cavity. I ignored it because frankly I hate seeing a doctor, and I don’t have much faith in the healthcare system. A few months later, new sensations presented itself. Beneath my left armpit it felt like some dude was wrapping his hand around it and squeezing. I also had a discomforting feeling between my chest bone and left breast, like a splinter or nail was stuck between them. I still do, btw. I finally relented and saw a doctor last Monday.

Doctor: Have you ever had a mammo done?

Me: No. Two of my friends had one done and had such a bad experience that they’ll never have one again.

Doctor: Have you performed a breast examine on yourself?

Me: Yes.

Doctor: Do you mind if I perform one on you?

Me: *shrugs* No. You can if you want. Breast cancer doesn’t run in my family, but if you want to you can.

She left me so I could take my shirt and bra off, and then when she came back, she had me lay on one of those tables with white paper on top of it. She checked the right breast and then the left.

Doctor: You have some lumps here.

Me: Nu-huh.

Doctor: You also have fullness. It’s very full here. *she presses down and around my armpit area and I about jump off the table from the pain* Do you want to feel it?

Me: *nods and allows her hand to guide mine to where she was pressing* It does feel full, but it hurts too much to keep touching it. *I pull my hand away*

Doctor: I can have you do a mammo right now, but I prefer you have it done on Wednesday when an ultrasound tech will be available. I also want to run some bloodwork on you.

I said okay, got the bloodwork done and the mammo scheduled. That night I got a call telling me my blood results came out find, but they were still waiting on the rest of it.

On Wednesday morning I had the mammo. Thankfully, I used to work with the gal who was performing it—once upon a time ago we were coworkers at the clinic here in town—so she was really good. She had me wait for the results. Twenty minutes later she came back and said the radiologist saw something and wanted her to take one more picture. She did, and then I waited. She entered the room and told me they wanted to do an ultrasound. So I had it done, and then I waited. Finally in the end I was told it was a mass, but they didn’t think it was benign; however, they wanted to monitor it. The doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory pills for me.

WTH?

I received a call the next day telling me my vitamin D levels were extremely low. I’m now on 50,000 mili grams three times a week. I asked about the pain. The gal who called me seemed indifferent, almost callous. She basically told me I’d have to live with it, but I could get a second opinion if I wanted to.

Gee, thanks.

As of right now, I know 3 people battling breast cancer and an author friend of mine just found out last week she has it, so that makes 4 now. I’m baffled by the whole thing. I don’t know what to think. All I know is if this weird ass pain I’m experiencing won’t go away, I’m going to have to get a second opinion.

I don’t wanna.

We’ll see, but I sure hope this week will be better than the last, because as Paige would say, “It sucked ass.”

I thought I’d post this because I’ve decided I’m going to start sharing things about myself with y’all. I do plan on getting another blog since I use this one mainly for supporting other authors, but for the time being, I’ll post things about me and my books here, as well. I’m no longer going to be shy about who I am. If you like me and want to follow me cool, if not that’s fine too. If you don’t know who I am, check my bio. I’m also a dirty minded, sometimes foul mouth girl who has an irreverent sense of humor. I’m very honest, open, and loyal. This year you will discover those things and more about me, whether it’ll be here or on another blog I’ll be creating when time permits.

Anyway, in the near future, I'll be revealing to you Ameerah's cover. It's breathtaking. Her book will be published sometime this year. You won't want to miss this.

Seriously.

So . . .

WLK excerpt

Dammit to hell. I can’t even enjoy a movie.

The nighttime air bit at my skin as thoughts of him chomped at my brain. He’d polluted me like a poison that spread throughout my mind and body, seizing every thought, leaving no rest. I loved horror movies and yet I couldn’t recall a single scene. Jimmie kept glancing at me, concern etching his face all the way through the ninety-minute show.

Soon Jimmie and I walked out of the theater, my hand resting in the crook of his elbow. Bitterness raged inside, heating my face against the breeze when I saw the limo roll toward us. He found me like he always said he would, but three fucking hours late.

I knew I wasn’t Dorian’s top priority, and I’d made some progress at keeping my jealousy under control, but no woman wanted to be shoved to the side every time it was convenient for a man. I tightened my grip on Jimmie’s sleeve and pulled him along just as the driver stepped into our path. I gave the chauffeur a shotgun-glare as he motioned me to the car. “Miss Torrance, Mr. Lincoln is waiting.”

My heart skipped ten beats, I couldn’t tear my eyes away when the dark window lowered and Dorian tousled his ebony hair with his fingers. He wasn’t in his usual attire, a business suit. Tonight he presented himself in casual wear. His sharp, handsome features were expressionless.

I closed my eyes, digging deep for the strength to tell him to get lost for standing me up, but I knew the words would never make it past my lips. I was a fool to entertain the thought. One look from those black eyes sifted me like wheat. Dorian practically owned me. That man was my tempter and my savior wrapped into one.

I met him at the lowest point of my life, after my mother died of cancer. The three jobs I was working to keep my head above water and pay off her medical bills were about to do me in physically. While I was waiting tables at the country club, Dorian swooped in from out of nowhere and rescued me like an injured bird. His amazing sixth sense alerted him that life was too much for me, and he offered me a strong shoulder to cry on. The floodgates opened and I unloaded my personal problems. Dorian Lincoln promised those problems would disappear with a simple acceptance of his proposition: give him power over my body, something Bianca wouldn’t allow.

Lifting my palm to Jimmie’s cheek, I smiled. “Thanks for the movie. I’ll call you next week.”

“He’s a prick. You deserve better, Abby!” Jimmie yelled, as I eased myself inside the limo.

Dorian opened a small refrigerator under the seat, his hands cupping the base of a champagne glass. “You’ve wasted no time finding another way of entertaining yourself this evening.”

“You wasted no time in standing me up,” I scoffed.

When I left his office that afternoon, Dorian said he wanted me for some ‘quality time.’ Eight-thirty rolled around before I realized he was a no-show. The food got cold and eventually the long stemmed candles I lit for dinner burned out, along with my patience.

“Meetings...clients,” he said.

Top secret meetings and clients were always the excuse. The coldness in his voice was a sword to my heart, a reminder of my temporary ranking in his life. I held on tight to his promise of our relationship becoming more when the time was right.

His stony expression broke into a devious grin. “You look beautiful in that dress and your enthusiasm is charming. But watching you masturbate will reimburse me, Miss Torrance.”

My stomach dropped and quivered as I pressed my thighs together. He was going to punish me.

I tugged at the straps of the red shoes he’d bought me, eyeing him as he sipped from the flute and moved his gaze toward the window. Overtaken by the need to be the object of his fascination, I almost begged him to turn those onyx eyes back on me. His attention was the only thing that kept me from going under.

“Dorian, please I-”

My words were cut off with the sharp turn of his head. Relief came in a warm caress, but suspicion moved in with a lift of his brow. The small amount of light coming through the tinted windows deepened the masculine angles of his face, lending them a sternness that echoed in his voice.

“No other men. I thought I was quite clear about that when we discussed the terms of our agreement, three months ago.”

“Jimmie is just a friend.”

“Jimmie is a man. A distraction.”

“A distraction from being pissed. I don’t like being stood up.”

I sounded so offended, but I had no right. Closing my eyes I regrouped, reminding myself that I freely agreed to make myself available to him. Dorian kept up his end of the arrangement. He took care of me, changed my life for the better. My phone stopped ringing from creditors, he gave me a great job at his company, and I had food on the table in a fabulous apartment. He seemed to know my every need before I voiced them. I could push aside my hostility and take his punishment and occasional negligence.

“You are mine, all mine.” he announced.

His words, saturated with power and ownership, sustained my hungry heart. I could hold out as long as it took, accepting the way things had to be until Bianca was more emotionally stable, and Dorian could ask her for a divorce. I had waited longer on losers, lazy assholes who wouldn’t work in a pie factory. This time I had struck gold.

Reaching over, I grabbed the seat when Dorian impatiently knocked on the divider and the limo picked up speed.

Cover Reveal and #Giveaway! Treasure Darkly by Jordan Elizabeth

Seventeen-year-old Clark Treasure assumes the drink he stole off the captain is absinthe…until the chemicals in the liquid give him the ability to awaken the dead. A great invention for creating perfect soldiers, yes, but Clark wants to live as a miner, not a slave to the army—or the deceased. On the run, Clark turns to his estranged tycoon father for help. The Treasures welcome Clark with open arms, so he jumps at the chance to help them protect their ranch against Senator Horan, a man who hates anyone more powerful than he.

And he is not alone. His new found sister, Amethyst, thinks that's rather dashing, until Horan kidnaps her, and all she gets is a bullet through her heart. When Clark brings her back to life, she realizes he's more than just street-smart - and he's not really a Treasure. Amethyst’s boring summer at home has turned into an adventure on the run, chock full of intrigue, danger, love, and a mysterious boy named Clark.

TREASURE DARKLY, book 1 of the Treasure Chronicles

This young adult fantasy introduces the Wild West to a steampunk world, mixed together with romance and a touch of the paranormal.

Enjoy the following excerpt…

“Looks like he did drink it up.” The general client spoke from the right. “Must’ve interacted with all that bloody hertum. Look at ‘im, he’s bleeding already.”

“What’s it gonna do to him?” the guard from the morning asked.

“Lots of stuff.” The general laughed. “When he touches the dead, he’ll be able to bring them back, and exchange that life for another. Perfect soldier, huh? We only have one vial ready and I was going to give it to a lucky fellow. Guess it will be this boy.”

“Whatcha gonna do with him?” The guard snickered.

“Have to be a test subject,” the general said. “Sure thought it was that Judy who stole my bottle. Pity I killed her. She sure knew how to make my pecker sing.”

Judy.

Clark’s mother.

Clark bolted off the ground and ran. He could hide in the hole under the shed behind the brothel. Mable never found him under there. He might be cursed with raising the dead—he’d already done that to the poor mine worker—but it didn’t mean he’d let them take him for tests.

Happy New Year!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I hope it’s a good one for all of us. J

This year I plan on being more organized with my book stuff and possibly sharing with you my writing in progress. I haven’t shared a lot about my books on this blog because I don’t want to seem like I’m spamming y’all and another reason is I get a lot of request from other authors to help spread the word about their books, which is totally fine. I love helping other authors out. I also believe in paying it forward. So I’ll continue to support them here on this blog. I’m actually seriously thinking about creating another blog just for my books and my journey in the literary world. If I do, which I think I’m going to, I’ll letcha y’all know, so hopefully you’ll follow me there, as well.

For over a year, off and on I’ve been trying to figure out how to create a newsletter and an email signup form. I finally figured out the signup form but before I post it, I need to learn how to do a newsletter. I’m not shy to say I suck at technology. LOL. However, I will find a way and once I do, you’ll be one of the first to know.

Anyway, there’s a cool book coming out I’ll be posting about here in a couple days for another author. You’ll have to check it out. The cover is awesome and if you’re a fan of pirates and Captain Hook, I think you’ll want to get this book. I know I’ll be adding it to my TBR list.

Have a good day.

Cheers!
