Cover Reveal! Palace Secrets by #Author Ravyn Rayne

Title: Palace SecretsPalaceSecrets_500x755

Series: Palace Secrets #1

Author: Ravyn Rayne

Publisher: Blushing Books

Expected Publication: June 6, 2015

Love comes in many forms and always at a price.

At twenty-three, Princess Isabella must settle down for the sake of her kingdom. Caught up in a secret affair with her lady-in-waiting, Hannah, the princess knows it can only last for so long.

When Prince Alexander arrives to court her, he confides that his father is on his death bed, and he will be crowned king soon. Isabella hastily agrees to the proposal, desiring to be queen, knowing little about her soon to be husband.

Murder, secrets, and lies combine with menage, spanking, and erotic encounters in this steamy medieval romance.

EXCERPT

Teardrops fall from the sky as I sit in my room with the window open, watching the dirt road into the castle. Prince Alexander, from a neighboring kingdom, is scheduled to arrive at court today. It's no secret I've made things difficult for the last prince that courted me. I can't remember his name, only his beady eyes and putrid breath. I have no desire to tie my heart down.

The thought terrifies me to no end.

There's a knock at my door and I shut my window, keeping the mood from seeping inside. Silly superstitions.

"Princess Isabella," Hannah says, greeting me with a curtsey. Her blonde hair is braided intricately across the top of her head and down her back. I wonder who did her the honor. She's wearing my favorite color on her too, a deep rich blue that accentuates and compliments her pale blue eyes.

I pull her into my room, slamming the door shut behind her. Hopefully no one saw her entrance. If they did, we can surely think up an excuse for her presence in my room. Unlike a boy, there's no rules being broken having Hannah alone in my chambers. Lucky me.

Without thought, my lips descend onto hers, shoving her forcefully against the door.

Hannah is not shy, though she pretends to be around my parents. I don't blame her, they are intimidating and also the king and queen of our land.

"You have to tell your father King William," Hannah whispers between kisses. Her fingers slip against the back of my neck, moving my dark locks to one side. Hannah's rosy lips fall against my bare skin, kissing a path up to my ear. "It's the only way we can be together."

"He'll never allow it," I say and sigh letting my eyes shut. I worry that confessing my feelings for her might result in her banishment from our kingdom. It's not only the fact Hannah is a woman and our relationship is forbidden, there's also the issue that she's a lady-in-waiting.

She's not of royal blood and I'm to marry a prince and strengthen our alliance. Nothing can ever develop between us more than lust and romance.

Excerpt

I rush back up the dark stairwell, shoving the key into the doorknob. It takes a minute for the lock to click and I push myself inside the apartment, securing every lock and deadbolt. I can’t stay here in Hutchinson, Kansas any longer. Pulling my phone from my purse, I text Weston.

Tatiana is here. It’s not safe for me.

I grab the few belongings that have any value to me, sentimental or otherwise, and shove it into my shoulder bag, including the stolen silver necklace. It has value and if I’m forced on the run, I’ll need money to survive.

I know.

What did Weston mean he knew Tatiana is at the bar? Had he seen her? Is he there?

What do you mean, you know? I type into the phone. If he saw her, why didn’t he warn me? I can’t go down out the front door and it’s only a matter of time until she finds me just a few feet away. I grow restless waiting for an answer.

The phone buzzes and displays an incoming call from Weston. "Wes, tell me you’re here." The only thing to do is hop in his car and drive into the night, far from Kansas.

A female’s voice bubbles with laughter. "Oh he’s coming darling, but you should know he won’t get here in time. Amazing how easy it is to clone a phone number and steal his service. The advancements Stem Tech has made is encouraging."

Release Day Blitz! Troubled Souls by Genevieve Scholl a #Romantic #Mystery novel

Troubled Souls
By: Genevieve Scholl
Genre: Romantic Mystery
Release Day Blitz: April 15th (103rd Anniversary of the sinking)

The sinking of the Titanic was one of the most shocking tragedies in history. Rosalee has always had a strange fascination with the whole thing. She never understood why she was so curious about the ship, the passengers, and the sinking… Until she visited an artifact exhibit in Las Vegas, and started having dreams of being a passenger on the ship in 1912.
Once she finds out which passenger she is portraying in these visions, she does some research and finds out that not only is the woman buried nearby, but she also has a striking resemblance to her.
Now she has a million questions, and the only thing that can help her get the answers is the spirit of the passenger… And possibly the handsome Historian in a suit.

Excerpt:
Bradley snapped his head back at Rosalee’s question. The doctor hadn’t said there was any possibility of amnesia, but he guessed that was why they kept people for observation. Bradley could only hope it was temporary. After pressing the nurse’s button, he gently sat on the edge of the bed and carefully grabbed Rosalee’s hand in his, making lazy circles on the top with his thumb. He didn’t want to say anything for fear of jarring her memory and causing some kind of damage.
A nurse walked in to the room and smiled when she saw that Rosalee was awake. “How are you feeling, Rosalee?” she asked sweetly.
Bradley winced at the mention of her name, and looking down at Rosalee’s creased brow.
“Who’s Rosalee?” she questioned. “My name is Emily,” she added.
The nurse—whose name was Daphne, according to her badge—looked between Rosalee and Bradley in confusion.
“She seems to be suffering a little amnesia,” he told her. “Is it a cause for concern?”
Daphne’s smile reappeared, though it wasn’t as cheerful as the last time. “It’s possible with any head injury, of course; though we weren’t expecting it with such a minor bump. But that’s why we keep people in for 24-hour observation.” She moved a chair close to the bed and took a seat. “After I gather a bit of information and check her vitals, I’ll have the doctor stop by to talk to you.” Bradley nodded, and Daphne turned to Rosalee. “Are you up for a few questions?” She nodded, and Daphne pat her hand before continuing. “Now, Emily,” she paused as she smiled at Rosalee. The use of the name made Rosalee visibly relax, and Brad sighed … she really did believe her name was Emily, “do you know your last name?”
“Lancaster,” she answered immediately.
Daphne nodded, and wrote on the paper she held. “Do you know why you’re in the hospital?”
Rosalee shook her head. “The last thing I remember is standing on the ship.”
“What ship?” Bradley asked gently.
“The Titanic, of course.”

About the Author:

I'm just a small town girl with a heart for the country life. I'm very shy and pretty much a loner, but my writing helps me be more outgoing and talk to various people that I would otherwise have a hard time approaching. I don't write for the money or the fame, but rather to tell a story that needs to be told; whether that is my story or a character's story. As a lot of people know, from my various interviews, I started writing to express my anger and hurt over the bullying that I experienced in High School, but eventually I just realized that I loved to tell stories. I was born in Texas, grew up and still live in Upstate New York, and want to retire in Ireland.

Book Tour! Marquel's Dilemma by Emily W. Skinner & #Giveaway!

tour banner - marquels dilemma

Marquel's Dilemma

A Romantic Thriller
(Includes Adult Content)
By Emily W. Skinner
Marquels Dilemma

WLK synopsis

SPOILER ALERT – To avoid spoilers, it is advised to read the first novel, Marquel, before reading Marquel's Dilemma.

Marquel's Dilemma

The dramatic conclusion of Emily Skinner's first novel Marquel brought requests from readers to continue the story.

Marquel's Dilemma begins three years after the actress Marquel's tragic past has been exposed by tabloid journalist, Mark Collins. The media exploitation of her life brought a new responsibility. She would become a voice of hope for others, not as the actress Marquel, but under her married name.

Zach Manning, Marquel's psychiatrist, lover -- and now husband -- made a huge mistake in protecting her. Unbeknownst to his wife, Zach asked for a favor, not weighing the consequences. Now Collins is back for revenge. The first time it was his job... now it's personal!

amazon

WLK excerpt

The unvarnished truth was that Zach was a lonely, middle-aged, divorced psychiatrist when “Marquel” entered his life. Their sessions had been a mix of tears, anger, darkness and sexual tension. Loving her was the biggest risk he had taken since opening a practice in Beverly Hills. He understood the consequences, but broke his professional ethics for a second chance at love.

He was mesmerized by her. Rumors of a nervous breakdown were just surfacing in the gossip magazines and it was his job to keep her functioning. It was a constant struggle, trying to keep up with the demons that were haunting her.

The car door opened and her gorgeous smile sent his heart racing, as it always did. Its appearance had been so rare in their early days.

“Did you have a good session?” He could see her eyes were red.

She picked up the flowers and kissed him sweetly on the mouth. “You always do the right thing.”

He pulled her in for another kiss, this one lingering.

“I don’t know what I’d do without you,” Her finger circled his mouth, and she gave him another light kiss before buckling her seat belt. “You make everything right with the world.”

He never felt this way with Isabel. His ex never had the look of love in her eyes when she spoke to him. This was the happiest he’d ever been with a woman.

WLK Author Bio

Emily W. Skinner
Emily had a goal when she was 15, she would have a daughter named Marquel and write a novel titled "Marquel." She accomplished both and more.
A member of The International Thriller Writers, Emily was a protege of the late master of the pulps or paperback originals, Harry Whittington. Emily interviewed Whittington during her days as a feature writer for the Clearwater Sun daily newspaper and its weekly division. They became friends and he taught her how to plot and gave her approval of the original outline and sample chapter for "Marquel" shortly before he died in 1989.
After Whittington passed away, Emily challenged herself to write as her mentor did and wrote a chapter a day and finished the novel "Marquel" in 52 days. For more details on the novel's history read:http://www.thefilmmom.blogspot.com/20...
Fast forward, a second daughter, Blair is born and Emily and husband Tom focus on raising their family. Both daughters are now grown and work in Hollywood. So this might be an example of art imitating life or the reverse?
A devoted Catholic, Emily is rekindling her love for writing and has just completed the movie script for "Marquel" and a young adult paranormal appropriately named after her youngest child, "St. Blair: Children of the Night." She will begin the sequel to "Marquel" in the coming months, currently untitled.
When Emily isn't working as a marketing consultant or writing, she enjoys antiquing/thrifting and producing short films. Emily is the proud Executive Producer of Blair Skinner's film "Relative Eternity," a 2012 LA Shorts Film Festival selection, Sunscreen Film Festival selection and Short Film Corner Festival de Cannes selection. Written, directed and edited by Blair Skinner, "Relative Eternity" is on snagfilms.com for your viewing pleasure. It is free to view.
