Heir to the throne of Casmerelda, Princess Ophelia has a knack for disobeying the rules. When she sneaks out in secret to visit her boyfriend, her life takes an unexpected twist. She is murdered by an unknown assailant outside the Blue Moon Tavern and is tasked with being a grim reaper. Is it punishment for her naughty night outings or the Dacre curse?

Wynter Gael has no choice but to reap the soul of Ophelia Dacre and bring her into the world of the undead. Responsible for reaping souls and fixing her mistakes, he must decide if putting her over his knee is worth it or if she should be sent to the royal council for further disciplinary action.

Reaper’s Kiss is a paranormal erotic novel with elements of spankings, anal play, graphic sex, and mild violence.

EXCERPT

“I don’t like it.”

What was there to like? Larkin, the gentleman she’d been sneaking out to visit had an appointment with death. He felt bad for the guy, especially given the fact the girl he liked was recently murdered, but what could he do?

“You’re not supposed to,” Wynter said and sighed. “Maybe you should stay here for today.”

“The hell I am!” Leila stood up. Her hands in fists. “I’m not going to sit by and idly watch as you reap the man I love! Not a chance in hell!”

Interview with the Author

What inspired you to write about grim reapers?

Many years ago I enjoyed a show titled Dead Like Me which inspired the idea for this novel. It was intended to be a series for young adults and was eventually redone for the adult romance genre. Personally I felt like this story had so much more potential as I was originally writing it in the YA category and struggled to keep in tame. When the publisher that the YA series was with went under, this gave me the opportunity to really make this book shine.

Do you plan to write a sequel for Reaper's Kiss?

If the book is well received I would definitely consider a sequel or possibly even a spin-off. There are many more areas to explore in the undead world.

I read Dead Girl Walking, is this the same novel?

Yes and no. There are many story elements that are the same but the novel is definitely hotter and sexier. Edon's character no longer exists, Wynter takes on more of a role, and Ophelia finds herself bent over his knee for a spanking! I can guarantee that never happened in the young adult version!

#Authors! An Easy Tip On How To Write Description On Something You Know Nothing About.

This is another short, sweet, and helpful tip for you authors out there.

Do you ever find yourself having to write a description about something you know nothing about?

I do, like when I was writing Ameerah. After she became a dark spirit, her friend talked her into possessing a good looking man and having sex with an attractive woman. I had no idea what it was like for a guy to have sex with a girl, let alone describe in detail the whole sexual act. I knew nothing about those things, but in order to write a great story, you need to be authentic, right? This chapter—I believe it’s chapter twenty—is frickin’ hilarious. I’m not saying that because I myself find it amusing, but my readers told me that as well. In fact, my male readers personally gave me kudos for a job well done.

Seriously.

How did I write a descriptive scene on something I was clueless on and nailed it?

Research, baby.

Yes, research slows down your writing process; however, it’s worth it in order to get what you’re trying to convey accurately to your readers and paint that scene into their heads.

I can't stress enough how important research is when you're writing a story, and of course, you intertwine what you've learned with your imagination.

Research + imagination= literary magic.

So say you’re writing about the inside of a castle but have never been in one, let alone have knowledge about the architecture and what type of furniture was used back then. Google it. Read articles and take that information to help you write your story.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

I hope this easy writing tip helps you. I’ll share more as I think of them while I’m writing my next book.

Cheers!

One Simple Writing Tip To Prevent You From Getting Writer's Block.

Okay gals and gents, I'm reblogging part of this post from my website because I've been crazy busy. I also just got over a sinus infection. So yeah, here is my simple writing tip:

When you’re writing your story and you have to stop, leave it at a part where you know what’s going to happen next or in a middle of your characters having a conversation. If you do this, you won't be stuck trying to figure out what to write next, and you'll slide back into that creative zone. This tip has worked for me every time. It should work for you too.

You’re welcome. ;)

Murmur Pierce Securities by #Author Anne Conley

Add it to your Goodreads TBR pile, now!!!

Exclusive blurb from Murmur, Book 5 in Anne's Pierce Securities Series:

Blurb:

Valerie Dunaway is a former socialite who has hidden from the public eye for years due to a horrific attack that left her scarred—physically and emotionally. When a strange masked man makes himself at home with her, she’s unable to run. She calls the cops, but the agoraphobic won’t go into protective custody, so Detective Hollerman calls the only people he trusts: Pierce Securities.

Quinten Pierce is a Renaissance man—artist, lawyer, fighter—but his latest assignment has him losing his ever-present control. He’s got one fight left in his career, and although he can’t wait for it to be over, his opponent seems to have ties to Valerie, thus forcing him to hold on until he finds out exactly who he’s working with.

With the help of the Pierce team, the scarred princess and the gentle giant must silence the murmurs of the past that threaten their future.

Unedited Excerpt from Murmur:

The more Quinten learned about the reason for Valerie Dunaway’s agoraphobia, the less he liked it.

Quinten looked over Evan’s shoulder at the three massive monitors.

“She doesn’t appear to have left her house in three years, dude.  She shops online, doesn’t have a car registered to her, nothing.”

Quinten rubbed his jaw in thought.  “Who comes in and out?”

“A therapist comes once a week.  She pays a housekeeper and a man who does gardening and errand-running type stuff.  But it looks like that’s about it.  She cut all ties with friends and family after the incident.  Maybe they took sides?”  Evan’s eyes pored over the screens in front of him, faster than Quinten could process what the man was reading.

“What exactly did her husband do to her?  You said sliced and diced?”  Evan’s choice of words churned in his stomach.  Quinten peered at the screens, desperate to find the one that made sense.

“She was a model when they met.  She came from old money.  The Dunaways?  They married into the Stadlers and created a dynasty.”  Quinten nodded. That’s why she sounded familiar.  He was pretty sure some of his parents’ dinner parties had involved the Dunaways and Stadlers.  “Well, she was their face.  Apparently, when she married Argyle Ford, he wanted her to stop being her family’s face piece, and when she wouldn’t, he tied her to their marital bed and sliced her face up with a straight razor.”

Quinten’s stomach churned at the prospect of a man doing something like that to the woman he vowed to honor and cherish.  “When you say, ‘sliced her face up,’ what exactly, do you mean?”

“Put her in the hospital for two weeks.  There were other injuries, mostly from the restraints he used.  Her lawyer wouldn’t let her do any reconstructive surgery except the bare minimum until after the trial.”

Evan’s fingers flew over keys and he pointed at one of the monitors.  There, displayed larger than life, was the most beautiful creature he’d ever seen, on the arm of some guy, in a newspaper article.

Quinten sat back in his chair.  So she’d put the man who’d sworn to love her in prison after he’d taken away her identity as a woman in the worst possible way. She was a model, at least for her family’s enterprises—her mother’s clothing company, and her father’s golf club.  Quinten had been there with his dad.  She also was a spokesperson for numerous charities.  She used her beauty for good, it seemed.  And it had pissed off her husband?  Was she hogging all his attention?  Quinten shook his head, unable to understand it.

At least she’d taken a stand against her attacker.  That should have been a step toward recovery.  What would be so bad that a woman who lived in the limelight would suddenly disappear from it?

“Tell me if the bastard’s still in jail,” Quinten murmured as he leaned forward to try to make sense of Evan’s screens again.  The computer wiz was clicking through them so fast, even Quinten couldn’t keep up.

“Well, I’ll be damned…” Evan mused, his fingers clicking on keys.

“What?” Quinten growled.

“Looks like he got out last month.”  Another couple of clicks and something whirred to the left of Quinten.  “I’m printing out his address for you.  It seems he’s living with an uncle on the other side of the lake from Ms. Dunaway.”

That news didn’t make Quinten happy at all.

“I’m going to her house.  See what you can get as far as backgrounds on friends and family, especially his.  Find me some trial transcripts.  And we’ll go from there.”

Evan nodded, still absorbed in the data on his monitors.  “Will do.”

B&N Kobo iBooks G. Play

Her voice has gone all low and husky, and my dick instantly jerks to attention like it’s responding to a signal that only she knows. “Yeah?” The thudding of my heart is heavy, harsh, and violent.

She breathes out. “Yeah.”

She lifts her eyes, big, warm, and beautiful to meet mine. I’m hypnotized for a minute, just staring into them while she stares right back. With an uncontrollable surge of need, my body moves into autopilot and I just react.

I tug her wrist, pulling her off the back of the bike. When she’s standing beside me, a quick gasp escapes her as I pull her to straddle my lap.

And then she’s mine.
Her lips are mine, her mouth belongs to me.

And I pillage.
And I plunder.

At the insistent urge of my tongue, she opens to me with a moan. I pull back for a second.

“Sexiest sound I ever heard, baby.” I don’t want to scare her, but I can’t do much more than growl at this moment.

Claiming her lips again, I taste her and she’s perfect. Fucking perfect. She presses against me, forcing me to go deeper, to kiss her harder. When she grinds her hips against my rock-hard cock, I can’t take it anymore. Her hands sift through my hair. Rough, rough, rough.

I wrench away from her devilish mouth and grab her ass. The fact that any other rider could come along at any moment only amps me up, not slows me down. I lift her up, and when I plunge her back down on top of me she clamps down on her bottom lip with her teeth and drops her head into my shoulder.

“Drake,” she whispers. Harsh, harsh, harsh.

Then she bites down hard on my shoulder.

Blog Tour! Phoenix by #Author Addison Kline

Title : Phoenix

Author: Addison Kline

Book 1 of the Phoenix Saga - The Phoenix

“Love is patient. Love is kind. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” Or so the book of Corinthians tells us.

Alanna Anderson does not agree with this sentiment. At the tender age of thirteen, Alanna believes that she has learned all she needs to know about love. Love is fleeting. Love is callous. Love is a lie. Growing up in the rough streets of South End, Pennsylvania, Alanna Anderson knows a thing or two about guarding her heart. Although there is a boy that vies for her attention, Alanna has no interest. She surrounds herself with the people she loves best and immerses herself in her music and her love of literature. But one winter day, two boys forever changed Alanna’s life. One cemented Alanna’s belief that love was cruel. Another sought to prove her wrong.

Cris Serrano is new to town. Moving to the United States from Portugal, he is stepping into a world he is unfamiliar with. He is not fearful, though. Stepping forth with confidence, Cris is excited for what this new experience will hold, leaving behind a past he’d rather forget. Upon his first day at Henshaw Elementary, Cris meets Alanna Anderson and sparks fly. Their connection is one that will forever rewrite the map of their destinies – two supernovas colliding amidst a darkened sky. Not everyone believes that Alanna and Cris belong together, though.

Damien Foley has loved Alanna Anderson from the day he first set eyes upon her. Though she ignores his advances, Damien has hope that Alanna will open her heart to him. But when Cris Serrano comes to town, everything changes. Alanna gazes at Cris the way Damien wishes she would look at him. Watching her fall in love with Cris was more than Damien’s mind could take. As Alanna and Cris are enveloped in the joy of young love, a storm is brewing. With Damien’s attraction to Alanna only intensifying with each unrequited sentiment, an obsession was born.

Young love does not come easy in this gritty, romantic suspense novel. In the Phoenix Saga, they love hard, they fight hard, and the stakes are high as teens struggle to step over the echelon of adulthood.
