Synopsis:
This book is book one in a three part series, so not all matters are resolved at the end of the novel. It is also meant for ages 18+ due to yummy adult content ;)

Happily ever after doesn’t exist. Not just in the romantic sense, but in the sense that there will never be a point in life that will contain no more obstacles.

Josie Sommers is a nerdy twenty four year old, elementary school teacher who has always considered herself a strong person. But with the loss of a loved one and the return of someone she vowed to never see again, her strength starts to break.

When he betrayed her in the ultimate way, she never thought she would let him back into her life, let alone open herself up to falling back in love with him.
Plagued with resentment and the burden of her own dishonesty, Josie has to decide if forgiving and coming clean is worth the risk of losing him again. With so many hurdles, we know that Josie’s story is no fairytale.

That’s
a promise.

FREE Ebook! Remembered by E.D. Brady

Enter the world of Vistira in the first part of the new adult, romantic fantasy series.

Author E.D. Brady’s book Remembered is FREE on Amazon. It’s a great book, and she’s a wonderful writer. I did a book review on Remembered

last summer, but here it is again:

*Spoiler Alert*

The story begins with Emily who was abandoned at the age of six and doesn’t remember her parents or the time before that. She grew up in foster homes and became friends with Cappy, who by the way, is a wonderful friend and great character. Years later, Emily begins having dreams about a hot guy who adores her and seems very real. She becomes baffled by these dreams and decides to see a psychologist in hope to root out her problems and deal with them. When Emily agrees to be hypnotized, frightening memories of being kidnapped resurface. After the disturbing session, she decides to never see the doctor again and welcomes Cappy’s unrelenting support in the matter.

When Emily decides to go on a business trip to Europe with her boss, she wanders off and finds herself in another world, and her name is Annella Derlyn.

Here is where I’m starting to love this book.

A floodgate of memories washes over Annella. She remembers the house she grew up in and goes there. She remembers her parents had died, leaving her to care for her brother Max and sister, Cora who are twins and years younger than she.

I think E.D. has a gift for writing fairytale type books, because when the story shifts into the land of Vistira, her ability as a writer dances off the page in a wonderful performance that had me smiling.

When Annella (Annie) goes to town, she sees the words The Citadom, etched on a stone building. She feels a strange flutter in her belly, but doesn’t know why. However, she does remember the building houses the Vistira’s government and law enforcers. But the men of the Citadom aren’t typical policemen, they’re more like peacekeepers, healers, and spiritual advisors wrapped into one. They’re referred to as Peacemen who took vows of celibacy. One of the Peacemen happens to be Kellus Kir. He’s an apprentice and the hot dude who was in Annie’s dreams, when she was living the life as Emily.

Deciding to change her modern clothes before she calls attention to herself, she goes home to her little cottage and sits down, absorbing all the memories of this life.

The story then shifts to when Annie meets Kellus, and a good portion of the book is backstory. But that’s okay, because it’s all good.

Kellus and Annie are instantly attracted to each other, but Kellus tries to fight it, due to his obligation as a Peaceman and the vow he took. However, eventually he gives in and admits to Annie he’s in love with her. In secret they get married. Blissfully happy, they later go back to Annie’s house. While Kellus is outside, she gets kidnapped. A spell is performed on her which propels her to an alternate universe as Emily. And though she’s only gone for six months, according to Vistira’s time, in the time of Emily, it has been sixteen years. So when Emily turns twenty-two–the same age she was when she got kidnapped–the dreams of Kellus begins and the enchantment placed upon her breaks.

The story rewinds back to Annie sitting on her floor in the cottage. She hops to her feet, changes her clothes and finds Cora and Max residing with Kellus’ family. His family is awesome, and I really like his brother Markum. It’s a heartfelt reunion because they all thought she was dead . . . well, except for Kellus. While she was missing, he believed she was still alive, telling everybody he would know if she past from their world.

But Kellus is in bad shape. He’s grief-stricken and discovers how to remedy it.

Alcohol.

With the urging of the Under Master at the Citadom, Kellus goes back as a Peaceman. Meanwhile, Annie tells his family and her two siblings exactly what happened to her. They believe her and figures out who did it and why. After Kellus is reunited with Annie, they all devise a plan to expose her captors. But things don’t go as planned and now the whole family is in danger.

What will they do to get out of this ugly mess?

You’ll have to read it to find out.

It’s a great book and it’s FREE!

Woot!

Unveiled Ties by Felicia Tatum

Unveiled Ties is the second novelette in the Intoxicating Passion series.

I enjoyed it.

Felicia did a wonderful job writing the next half of this story.

Dane is a college playboy or man whore is more like it, who can’t stop thinking about Korah. His mind keeps replaying that sexy night when his frat house had the masquerade party where he and Korah, concealed behind their costumes, got pretty hot and heavy in his room. She bailed on him before they revealed their true identity, and now he’s determined to find out who she is.

Korah is ashamed of her behavior on that Halloween night and internally berates herself for acting like a slut. She has issues with guys, because her last relationship stung her hard. She wants nothing to do with them, but can’t fathom why she would allow her hormones for a complete stranger override her sense of reason. She finally decides to move on and concentrate on her studies.

When Dane enters the first day of biology class, he scopes out the other students, determined to pick the right lab partner for the semester—until the TA addresses the class. He tells them he has a seating chart, and he’ll be setting up the partners. Dane groans along with the rest of the class. He silently curses the TA and takes the seat assigned to him. He hears his partner is named Korah Daniels. She’s not there, and he’s already thinking how lame she is and it’s just his luck to end up with a partner who doesn’t bother to come to class because it’s beneath them. But his whole attitude changes when Korah shows up and takes a seat beside him.

It’s the girl who has been occupying his every thought. He knows it, but she doesn’t.

Korah wonders why her lab partner keeps staring at her and why she is stuck with a creeper. She can’t deny how hot he is, but already deduced by her close observation that he’s a player and a ladies man who can charm the pants off of even the prudish of them all. She starts to dread this semester even more.

Later on, Dane confesses and tells her who he is and things get even more interesting from there.
Felicia leaves the reader hanging and wanting more at the end of this second half of Intoxicated Passions series. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens after Dane does something that makes me want to shake some sense into him.

The Year 2013

Wow! Can you believe this year is almost over?

I can’t.

So what have you accomplished this year? Do you ever think about that before the New Year begins? What about the things you had to endure? Do you set goals for the next year?

I do all of the above.

In 2013 I published two books: Dark Spirits and The Devil’s Third. I put the ecopy to Beyond the Eyes for free on Amazon, because I love the new mythology I created, some of the characters, and I want others to experience it as well for free. I’ve learned more about marketing, but of course I’m still learning. I joined lots of literary groups. I met and became friends with some wonderful authors. I created a street team on Facebook. I’ve done book launching parties, blog tours, interviews, and book signings. I’ve met and interacted with some of my fans whom I love.

Yeah, I’ve been busy trying to spread the word about my books and make a name for myself in the literary world. But there’s still a lot of work to be done and a lot to learn.

I’ve accomplished all of that stuff while working at a f/t day job. Talk about being stressed out at times. Not to mention, dealing with the mundane things in life we all have to deal with.

Blah!

But I believe the end result will be all worth it. In fact, when I hear from fans telling me how much they love my books, a renewed energy engulfs me, and I continue on.

Yeah, it’s worth the stress and tears.

Did I say I love my fans?

So 2013 was mostly a year to get a foothold in the literary world. I also had this blog pimped out by telling Parajunkee Design my idea on how I wanted it. She did a wonderful job, don’t you think?

Lately I’ve been dealing with being crazy busy at my day job. It’s always like this in the winter time because I work for a mom and pop propane company. So far this season we’ve been slammed. The weather has been in the minus degrees. It’s like living in a freezer box, and of course people need their heat. I don’t blame them, but I wish they would be nice and not so demanding. I mean, most of them are nice but some are assholes. In those situations, I wish I can do what Darth Vader does here:

Anyway, the owners at my job are awesome people, so I’m fortunate not only to have a good job, but to work for down to earth, sweet people. I remind myself of that when I’m getting stressed out or when customers piss me off.

In a couple weeks it’ll be 2014. I have a couple projects going on at the same time: a Beyond the Eyes novella and a novel in Ameerah’s (uh-meer-uh) POV. I already have the cover for her book, and it’s beau-ti-ful.

Seriously.

You’ll love it.

Trust me.

Originally I was going to make her tale a novella, but she has a lot to say. She was a flapper in the 1920s, then her parents stuck her in an insane asylum where she died. Because of her contempt for humanity, she became a dark spirit. So, yeah, she has a lot of shit to tell ya.

Those two projects I plan to complete this year. We’ll see if I can write them both at the same time, which I’m attempting right now. A fan of mine wants me to do a spinoff on Carrie and Tree, so I may do that as well this year.

In 2014, Kevin and I plan to finish siding our house and completing the inside of our enclosed porch. We live in a house that was built in the 1930s. It seems when we start one project to this house, another one presents itself. Needlessly to say, we still have work to do on our homely abode.

Oh, I also need to get more organized. LOL

Yeah, that is a must.

So what about you?

What was 2013 like for you?

What are your plans for 2014?

Format: Paperback

 Synopsis

I am hoping that crazy people run and sane people hide as they read my novel The Man from Sweet Loaf . The story is about Sam Murphy. He is a truck driver. He is a Vietnam era Veteran. He has PTSD, but he can only see his father as a winged Gargoyle. This is related to war veterans in every war. He falls in love with a Haitian woman, she belongs to a powerful Colonel Labossier in the Ton-Ton Macoute; Sam Murphy has to fight this man and his bodyguards. He enlists his brother who is a cop, Ray. However, with Myrthe this woman is involved in the culture of Voodoo.

Sam Murphy in a major section, As the Gargoyle sings to thee….this section deals with the relationship of his delusional view of his father. Thus, this dialogue shows us Sam’s fear towards him.

Sam Murphy, finds the Colonel dead, and his Myrthe free to be with him. But more definition to Sam and his past shows up on his door. Petey-Pete comes back to the Eastern shores, and visits his old truck driver partner. He is a major drug dealer from Florida, he is now a Rastafarian.

Petey-Pete is a symbol, he a Christ like figure for our image of the crucifixion. Sam’s brother, Ray is searching for this major drug lord. He is determined to get him. Sam has no idea of Petey-Pete being a major drug dealer, thus on a Sunday, Sam takes his family to church, Petey-Pete also attends. Ray spots Petey-Pete, shoots him dead on the church steps.

Sam goes to his dying friend, pulls out a book of poems; dedicate to their life on the road. Sam takes his daughter and wife and takes them away from this trauma, and leaves his past behind.

 PART ONE

Earth, Wind, Fire

The eagle never lost so much time as when he submitted to learn of the crow. –Blake, Proverbs of Hell

Sunday, 22 August 1985. A kiss and a noble ending was not meant for them as they awake in each other’s arms. Mabel Friday, with brown rainbow sun hair, was just a child of jazz from the sixties. A cool chocolate popsicle. Sassy woman. With a high heel walk that would make you melt in five minutes. She rode out the sticky hot summer season with her boyfriend Sam, who drove a dented-up red truck. He carried carpets to new office buildings from a dusty-quiet city on the Eastern Maryland shores, Sweet Loaf. He made his runs through the I-95 Beltway: D.C., Maryland and Virginia. They met like other children in the past. On the street. Years after a war and the death of his soul in a Viet Cong raid. Sam came out in broken pieces of a no-nonsense selfish man. He even had the sailor nerve to paint on the side of his truck: EL, ZORRO.

Sam Murphy was a womanizer. A street gambler, common sense, drinking man. She would do almost anything for this man of many puzzling qualities. He was a hard man about living. Who wasn’t around most of the time, which made their screwing just a Sunday handshake. Now his other women didn’t make her mad and damn sure didn’t make her sad. Mabel knew she was a good woman for any man. But with Sam, she was on this road a long time. A long time. Cuddling, bouncing up in the back woods to the Sweet Loaf Carnival. They both drank up a lot of gin with the radio turned up to James Brown; begging for love on WKSL-AM Soul station. As they move behind the purple valley city and white corner moon.

Folks forgave Sweet Sam Murphy, you see; he had put it all in. He was one of the living dead who chain-smoked from a face of a dark storm wind coming to the shore’s edge. Most of the time he wore a greasy, pale blue golf cap on his head. Over wide brown, soft eyes that took in the yellow-green day and sometimes another man’s wife.

Mabel gave him that lullaby stare: Drugs, money or love over on the side of the road? Naw! She wanted something else as she rolled her moon-shaped butt on the black vinyl seats of the truck.

“Baby, what you want?” Sam pleads. “Tell me! But don’t just sit there like a fly on a elephant’s ass.”

“I need another cigarette,” Mabel said, scooting over closer to his ear. “Daddy.”

“Mabel, I just bought you some,” he said. “Darlin’, you got’s to be supportin’ your own habits!” Sam got real cruel. “Dey be cutting your tits off one of these days.”

“Sam, you don’t have to talk like that to me!” Mabel lights up, gives him the pack back. “You a thirty-two-year-old asshole!” She sucks in the smoke. Scoots away from him. “Shit, man! As much as I give you.” She gazes out to the sights of yellow, brown, burned summer alabaster leaves. Butchers in her dreams. “Maybe I’ll just die before they cut dem off! Butcher bastards! Son-of-a-bitches cut my momma up too! I ain’t never going to let them put the knife to my pretty tits!” She grabs, and cuddles them. “Sam, feel these! Feel these!” Rolls her eyes, drags hard on the cigarette. “Goddamn butcher men. . .  that’s all the fuck they are anyways!”

He knew it was the gin talking. She was a sweet screw a sad, kissable, chocolate milk woman from the Sweet Loaf woods. Sorry he put fear in her face. But people he cared about were sacred to him, their lives a part of his life. Secure in his web. Made her think about the knife her mother died under. Tender memories of a wife, a sister, a lover, mother. He noticed pieces of her brownish-black hair fly behind her right ear. Gold earrings flash. The ones he bought her for her birthday. He rubs a thumb across her cheek to take the pain from her lips. He searches for that blueberry-apple smile. He surrenders his love and forgiveness in the silence of a dusty shoo-fly road. A wand over her heart. Summer madness concocted under a hell-fire sun. A bead of sweat drips from her neck. Down her V-neck red dress. When the truck shakes, her breasts jump, jiggle, pow, boom, wow in the dress. He slows down over a dead squirrel. Dry red leaves crack under the tire wheels that take up the space between their lives and the rest of the red clay, chain gang road.

He squeezes up behind a Chevy station wagon. Scares the hell out of a family man with his long-neck wife, two kids and a standard size hound dog. Mabel laughs as the man’s horn curses Sam out.

Sweet Sam became childish, high with his Mabel. He put it all in; speeding sometimes. Crying, laughing and flying. Smoking good dope. Sam was all mixed up with dog shit on a county road: Route 87, to Bailey’s Cross. He sips his brown bag of gin from a paper cup. All he cared about was the fire from a pretty woman in the middle of a lost country road. Starve away the dream nightmares of a war. A wife, a son. He found Mabel after. After a country lost another son…who cares? He was alive. Alive to taste. Feel. Smell the sun, moon, stars from a woman’s panties. He had time to hear the silence in his heart. Play the sax in the night. Kiss up an angel’s tears that fell with the rain.

“We almost there, baby.”

“I know.” She puts his right hand on her left breast. “And they going to stay there too.” She draws closer to him. “I love you.”

“I’m sorry I scared you,” he said. “You know that.”

“Yeah I know.” She teases him. “Watch that pole.”

“I just love you . . . that’s all.” He sticks his golf cap on his right knee. “I can’t stand somebody else dying in my life, ’specially you.”

“You made that clear.”

Earth winds blow from east to west.

Gas and fumes drift in their noses. Sam looked over her eyes of blossoms and lips of red watermelon lipstick? Yes! Yes! He wouldn’t give a fuck if he did die with her. It was better than leaving in some war with dog-tags around your neck at nineteen. He puts more gas on the pedal. Shifts some gears before she gets sick in the cab of the truck. Hell! He knew she had to be tired. He didn’t look at her. He counts to ten over and over. Before the sleeveless, tight red dress almost makes him go right into a three hundred-year-old oak. Pleasant surroundings of her French-blood perfume mixed in with the sun and gin. He got up the nerve to see if she calmed down. Was she still looking for a fight? He throws an arm over her bare shoulders. He takes one eye off the road to keep from hitting the cows. Sneaks a passenger kiss on her cheek. He takes his arm from around her to concentrate on the road, jazz and her rich cream thighs.

The Enlightening by Adrianne James Release Day Blitz!

Happy Friday! I'm soooo looking forward to this weekend, what about you?
Check out this new release by author Adrianne James. It's a series you might want to check out. I did a cover reveal last month for this author, and now we're celebrating her new release . . . Oh, and there's a giveaway!
Congrats, Adrianne!

Mackenzie Duncan found out that pack life wasn’t for her. Now she is running for the second time in the six months   since she was bitten and turned into a Werewolf. But this   time, she isn’t alone. This time, she has Geoff and Liam     with her, two very hot Werewolves vying for her heart.

But her companions aren’t her focus. The only thing she can focus on is getting far from her old pack and their murderous ways. Only, she doesn’t just want to run. She wants to warn every pack she can that their lives are in danger too. No one should be turned against their will like she was and no other pack should have to surrender to the ideas of a centuries old, power hungry woman.

Not only does Mackenzie have to deal with her crazy ex-pack leader sending people out to kill her, she has to keep both men at arm’s length (and that proves to be much more difficult than she thought), but she finds out more about her own life and heritage than she ever thought imaginable.

And suddenly, everything makes sense…

Get the first book in the Mackenzie Duncan Series, The Tempering while it is on sale!

The Mythology department at prestigious Harvard University is tiny—and Mackenzie Duncan has just been selected as one of the lucky few. Her love for myths and legends is strong, but she never thought any of it could be real.

After being attacked by a large wolf while walking home alone, Mackenzie realizes something is not right. She heals quickly, is suddenly super strong, and is experiencing mood swings that can’t possibly be normal. The myths she’s studying aren’t myths at all. Werewolves are real and she’s one of them. Fear of what she is, and who she might hurt sends Mackenzie running from the life she’s worked hard to build–and straight into the arms of a handsome Were named Geoff and into the home of his pack. Living with her new pack takes the edge off her confusion and self-loathing, but the arrival of new pack members changes the dynamic, and tests Geoff and Mackenzie’s growing relationship.

The hardest part of being a werewolf is having no control and no memory of her time as a blood thirsty beast. When a moon cycle passes and she actually remembers bits and pieces of the night, she starts to ask questions, and the more questions she asks, the more she realizes she doesn’t like the answers. Can she set aside her own sense of morals to belong to a pack that is like a family or will she leave everything behind yet again in search of a life she can be proud of?

Growing up, Adrianne couldn’t get her hands on enough books to satisfy her need for the make believe. If she finished a novel and didn’t have a new one ready and waiting for her, she began to create her own tales of magic and wonder. Now, as an adult, books still make up majority of her free time, and now her tales get written down to be shared with the world.

During the day, Adrianne uses her camera to capture life’s stories for clients of all ages and at night, after her two children are tucked in bed; she devotes herself to her written work. Adrianne is living the life she always wanted, surrounded by art and beauty, the written word and a loving family.

As a young adult and new adult author, Adrianne James has plans to bring stories of growing characters, a little romance, and perhaps a little magic and mythology down the line for her readers to enjoy.

Beyond the Eyes Trilogy Tour

Yes, my friends, I’m posting about my very own tour going on right now courtesy of Reach for the Stars.

So far, I’ve received awesome reviews from the people hosting me and my books on their wonderful blogs. Paige (the main character in this trilogy) already stopped by to chat with one of the bloggers. Here are a couple of the links so you can see some of this awesomeness.

They’re worth checking out.

Promise.

Here's a quick video I did for Beyond the Eyes. Oh! These books are not scary btw. Haunting maybe, but not scary.

Beyond the Eyes (the first book in this captivating and original trilogy) is FREE on Amazon. Find out what all the excitement is about. It’s free, so why not, right?

Then we have Dark Spirits.

And finally the newly published one, The Devil’s Third.

I also have an announcement to make. As of right now, I plan on writing two novellas that will be based off this trilogy. However, they can be standalone books, but those of you who read all three novels will have a deeper insight into these novellas. The first one will be called, Doorways, and I’ve already started it. The second one will be in Ameerah's POV. She's a dark spirit and a very interesting character.

There are fans of these books who are requesting I continue it and some even want a spinoff of just Carrie and Tree. I’m contemplating it, but we’ll see how well this trilogy does. There are still lots of stories and adventures to be told between the characters, and I left it open to where the tale won’t get stale or boring. But again, we’ll see how things go.

Anyway, Happy Friday! I hope y’all had a lovely Thanksgiving and the rest of the weekend will be filled with fun, laughter, and relaxation. Oh, and it goes slow. Let’s hope Sunday will keep Monday at bay for a while. :D

Book Review On Reclaimed by E.D. Brady

Reclaimed is the second book in the Vistira Trilogy and it will not disappoint you.

Now for the review:

WARNING: Spoiler Alert!

Vistira is a different realm parallel to ours with less than one hundred thousand people. There are no phones, no cars, no TV, etc. As the main character’s best friend Cappy (a.k.a. Catherine) would say, it sounds like Little House on the Prairie; however, Vistira is not quite as primitive. They do have electricity generated by windmills which gives them light at night. So they do have some technology, and it’s a wonderful and beautiful place to live. But the krogs who are creatures, built like a man, with greenish skin and freakishly strong, are planning to rule Vistira. They’ve been in hiding far too long and aims to change that. Filled with resentment and hate, they’re scheming to carry off the women who are at childbearing age, rape them, and build a race of half-breeds. Their leader Dinora is one, and her vision is clouded with revenge against the very people who turned a blind eye to her and denied her the warmth she so desperately craved when she was a young girl. So she will have her vengeance and create others like herself and a world where she can never be ostracized again.

But there’s a problem.

Her name is Annella Derlyn Kir, who is called Annie for short.

Annie is part of a prophecy and seems to be the only one who can stop the krogs from waging war against Vistira. But there is one huge, glaring obstacle she needs to conquer. The object to wield the power to halt these ghastly creatures resides in New York City. In the dimension she was once cast to by means of wicked magic. Annie is unsure she can bend the universe and create a doorway back into that realm. But she must try. The fate of her loved ones and everything dear to her rest in her hands.

Now, this is where the story gets really good, and my love for it grows even more.

Annie, her husband Kellus, and his brother Markum, makes it to New York. Annie is a nervous wreck because she’s afraid, though, it’s been eight months since she’s been gone, in this world it could be eight years. The time between worlds is goofy. However, to her relief she discovers she was only absent for seven days. Meanwhile, Kellus and Markum are wonderstruck by this world . . .

The vehicles.

What are those things?

They’re marvelous.

The buildings that reach up to the heavens.

What magic has made this stuff?

I throughly enjoyed their reaction to everything. I also got a kick out of Cappy’s attitude towards Annie’s explanation on why she disappeared and where she has been. Their conversation is hilarious, and when Cappy sees Markum . . . well, it’s great. She cracks me up and besides Cora (Annie’s younger sister), Cappy is one of my favorite characters.

The suspense grows from here and gets intense throughout the rest of this tale. I loved how it ended and how the author took care of each important character in a flawless, satisfying way. This is a wonderful book with a resounding message: love is the most magical thing in the universe.
