Book Feature! Sunk by #Author Renea Porter

Sunk

By: Renea Porter

Release Day: May 19th

The darkness claws at Raine Sims, bringing her farther in.

There was no escaping it and no one to bring her out of it. The burden of loss weighs heavily on her, reminding
her every day that there are no guarantees in life. Every day is a struggle, every day she puts on a façade just to get through. She’s already lost her husband to divorce and now her child in death… It’s all too much to grasp.
But a chance encounter with Sly Wilkes is all it takes to come completely undone.

Sly Wilkes is always in control, in every situation, including in the bedroom. He’s mysterious, and Raine has
definitely piqued his interest. However getting to know her isn’t all that easy. Raine’s guarded and believes she deserves to feel the pain and the darkness that surrounds her.

Will Sly be able to help Raine see she deserves more?

Or Will the pain forever remain?

Renea has always had her nose inside of a book ever since she could remember. She has wrote ever since she
was young enough to write, never showing anyone what she was writing. Initially she started writing Coming Back to You without intending to publish, but her hubby of 15 years encouraged her to publish it. And she did. She couldn't imagine never writing. It's in her blood.

Her mind is always wondering, plotting and full of ideas. Even her hubs
questions her sanity sometimes, because she feels her characters are real.

About Wendy Owens

Wendy Owens is a 34 year old author, born in the small college town, Oxford Ohio. After attending Miami University, Wendy went onto a career in the visual arts. For several years she created and sold her own artwork. In 2011 she gave her true love, writing, a try. Her first novel flowed from her in only two weeks time, as though it had been fighting to get out. That moment was when she knew she had found her calling. Wendy now happily spends her days writing the stories her characters guide her to tell, admitting even she doesn’t always know where that might lead. Her first series, The Guardians, will be concluded with the fifth and final book in 2013.

When she’s not writing, this dog lover can be found spending time with her tech geek husband, their three amazing kids, and two pups, lovingly nicknamed stinks and chubbs. She also loves to cook and is a film fanatic.

Book Feature

C. Warner-Thompson is the author of Purest Light: The Beginning (The Sacred Prophecies) Here’s the blurb:

When a brother and sister from a small village fall upon an angel, blessed with the ability to fly and conjure magic, they are thrown into a world beyond their understanding, and so begin to venture from their simple lives into a war between Light and Darkness. They come to realise that their lives were never mapped out as simple mortal destinies, but rather that of two warriors, with a fate to end the unseen suffering of the land.
Along the path that they decide to follow, they meet further Seraphim and others who offer their help, but not everything is gained; friends and family are lost. Their very souls and hearts, and that of their friends, are thrown into an aeon old war between Light and Darkness. Filled with feelings unknown to them, they must decide which element is to be superior and survive from their seemingly never ending task.
Will they reach the edge of their world to restore the balance, or will they fall and be defeated by Darkness?

Here’s C’s bio she personally sent me to share with you guys:
I was born in Shropshire in the West Midlands in 1991 where I am still currently living, growing up alongside one younger and three older brothers.

Books and writing was an interest that I began to develop from the first years of secondary school, and on my thirteenth birthday, I began to plan and design the idea to write a fantasy novel. I finished secondary school with high GCSE's and then went on into further education to study English and all aspects of art and design. After six years of writing, planning and overall editing of the book, it was successfully completed, containing over 82,000 words, and self published in the first week of 2011.

With high expectations in myself, I immediately began to write a second novel in the series, while keeping my art and design a part of the process. The achievement of completing the first novel 'Purest Light,' allowed the ideas of the second to flow much easier and it was completed by early 2012. As I was writing the third and final book, New Beginnings, at the same time, the series was finished by its publication in 2012/ 13.

Writing is now a part of my everyday and I have started on my newest project, Shadows, which is also planned to be the first of three. Only time will tell.

Dark Frame of Mind

I heard from my editor the other day, and he is so ready to read and edit my next book in this series, however, I need to do the second round of revisions before I send it to him. There is something missing, though, and I haven’t quite pinpointed it yet.

This next book, Dark Spirits, is much darker than the first book, therefore, I have to get into a dark frame of mind before I start this next round of revisions. I’ve read that Stephen King listens to Metallica when he writes. I don’t know if it’s true, but if he does, I can see why. I mean, checkout this verse in Metallica’s song Enter Sandman, which by the way is a kick ass song:

Hush little baby, don’t say a word.
And never mind that noise you heard.
It’s just the beast under your bed.
In your closet, in your head.

I started reading The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, which is a good book so far. I’m thinking though, I should be reading something much darker, to get me into that mind set. I was talking to my Goodread’s buddy about Anne Rice’s Vampire chronicles (Interview With The Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of The Damned, etc.). I told her she needs to read it because they’re awesome.

The reason why I’m bringing this up is because I should probably be reading those vampire chronicles, instead of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, because they’re much darker than that book. But I started this book, so I’ll finish it.

I’ll find another way to get into the mood I need to do my revisions . . .

I know. I’ll watch clips like these, from the movie Interview With the Vampire and The Queen of The Damned.

Yeah, I know these are vampire scenes and my series has nothing to do with vampires, but this will work. It also helps that it’s cloudy, rainy, and cool out today.

So here we go.

Let’s do this!
