Come celebrate the release of my new adult thriller, Ameerah. I left you last week with Ameerah being murdered in an insane asylum. She dies with hate in her heart towards humanity and then finds herself at a recruiting station for the dark spirits. An Irish lad named Aidan, approaches her and gives her details about his world. Ameerah decides to become a dark spirit so she can have her revenge on the people who double-crossed her.

Dark spirits can possess soulless humans or humans who allow them to dwell inside their flesh. So imagine living whatever life you want and experience everything your heart desires.

A soulless human emits, a dull, low humming noise that dark spirits can hear. When Aidan teaches Ameerah to possess one of these hosts, he says, “Step into her energy field and imagine being inside that voluptuous body. Her vitality can be yours if you take it.” With a bit of hesitation and after asking Aidan a few questions about possessing a human, Ameerah does what she’s told and BAM, she’s inside a human body where she can experience whatever the hell she wants. Of course, she has to get used to inhabiting a vessel, and she shares her struggles with the reader.

Ameerah’s journey begins as a dark spirit, and she excels at it. She makes loyal friends and loves this new existence. They party at speakeasies. They drink, they smoke, have sex, fulfilling their hedonistic desires. With the help of her two friends, Ameerah gets her revenge on those who took everything from her when she was alive.

Ameerah’s story is an adult thriller, similar to Interview with the Vampire.

How?

Like Louis who told his tale to a reporter about his life as a vampire, Ameerah tells hers to her dark spirit friend, Derek, wheeling us back into time and through the timelines—the stock market crash, the depression, World War II, etc.—to present day. Sometimes the dead seek salvation, and by divulging her tale to Derek, she hopes he can help her get what she wants.

This book is due to release on January 28^th. If the stars are aligned right, it’ll go live that day. I will do one more of these posts next weekend, to share with you something fun I’m planning, to celebrate this release. :)

Dreamspinner is a well-written haunting tale. Merita King is a wonderful writer. I was blown away

by her knowledge and ability to write a sci-fi tale. How does she know this stuff? LOL. Not only that, but the descriptions and the way she paints the pictures in my mind are impressive. I’m not going to give the story away or make this into a book report. I’ll tell you this, though, when the characters wake up, alone and without the memory of why they’re there on what seems to be a ghost ship, is deliciously haunting to where you can feel it in the pit of your stomach. That is good writing. Each character has his own issues he has to face and tries desperately to understand what’s going on and if there’s anyone else on the ship. It’s a subtle horror that’s more frightening than teens staying in a cabin, being eliminated one by one by a dude who wears a mask.

I recommend this book to anyone who is into haunting sci-fi tales.

Aidan Logan approaches Ameerah. He’s an Irish lad, who is a recruiter for the dark spirits. He tells her there are people born without a soul. Dark spirits can dwell in these soulless humans, live the life they desire, and enjoy the pleasures of being back in the flesh, such as sex, alcohol, drugs, food, and whatnot. It’s quite fun actually. If she wants revenge on the people who double-crossed her, she can do so by becoming a dark spirit. He then goes more into depth about his world. You’ll have to read the book to find out. ;)

Ameerah loathes authority she’s forced to follow, and she can’t allow the people who betrayed her get away with what they’d done to her. She wants them to suffer as much as she had. She accepts Aidan’s offer, becomes a dark spirit, and he teaches her how to thrive in this new existence. They become pals.

The woman behind the pages...

Cheryllynn's vivid imagination comes through in all she does in life. Her writing started in junior high, although she never truly shared her work until recently. They were kept hidden away in an old tattered orange folder. Original works she wrote as early as 1984 still hold ink on the pages and are just now coming to life. Paranormal and Fantasy are her favorite genres with Mystery and Thrillers close behind.

Born in Northwest Florida and raised in Southeast Georgia she developed a love for nature and the outdoors. Her experiences outdoors allows her to create universes with vivid detail. After a detour of almost twenty years in the health care industry and obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Administration/Healthcare Information Systems she has returned to her love of writing.
