You need to
read the first book before you read Time’s Echo. And yes, they’re time
traveling novels and one of the best out there.
Time’s Echo
is in Kiernan’s POV, instead of Kate’s (the first book is in her POV). He’s a
great character who was born in the 1800s. Kate met him when she traveled to
his time, back when he was a boy, and she gave him a CHRONOS (Chrono-Historical Research Organization and
Natural Observation Society) key before she blinked out of that century. It’s a
round medallion that gives people who have the designer DNA, the ability to
activate this nifty device and travel through time. Kiernan still has the key,
and as an adult, he hooks-up with Kate in other times. He's in love with
her and secretly joins her crusade to thwart Saul's wacky, religious plan to
basically rule the world as a wealthy Messiah.
In Time's
Echo, someone fools with the timeline, and Kate disappears. Kiernan is desperate
to find her and will go to great lengths to do so. There's also a mystery he's
anxious to solve regarding the first time he meets Kate.
This novella
is written in such a clever way that it ties in with the first book. I think
Time's Echo is a treat for fans of The CHRONOS Files, and I'm so glad Rysa wrote
this. The reason why I say that is because you get to see what Kiernan is
doing in the first book, while Kate's eccentric grandmother tells Kate, she inherited designer DNA from the time traveling historians of CHRONOS.
This book is
full of awesome sauce, and I can't wait to read the next installment in this inventive tale.

Daring Dane
is part of the Intoxicating Passion novella series. It’s the third book and an
enjoyable read.
Dane is a
hot frat playboy who has issues with women. Period. He’s a male whore. End of
story. However, Korah who is in one of his classes, rocks his world. She’s not
like all the other panty dropping girls he’s accustomed to. She’s different.
When he finally gains her trust, he does the ultimate ass monkey mistake. After
they have sex, he sneaks out of Korah’s house when she’s asleep and totally
bails on her.
I wanted to
slap him for crushing Korah’s heart like that.
Dumbass.
In the third installment to this novella series, Korah feels like an idiot for falling
for Dane’s charms. But when her past rolls into her life, blindsiding her, she
has no choice but to call Dane for help. He comes to her aid without question.
Korah is ashamed and embarrassed to involve Dane into her unfortunate
circumstances, but she has no choice. Dane wants a second chance with her, but
he lost her trust and now has to suffer the consequences.
Dane is a
total wreck without Korah. He begins to do some self-evaluation on why he behaves
the way he does towards women. His behavior stems from his childhood. He
acknowledges it and realizes his feelings for Korah are genuine.
He loves her.
Korah has
feelings for Dane; however, he blew his chances the night he walked out on her.
Now he has to prove himself to her in order to gain her trust back.
Will Dane be
able to win Korah’s heart?
I think he
will, but I won't know until the next book in
this novella series comes out, which I’m looking forward to reading.
Entangled
Souls book #1.5 is a novella that’s part of the Scarred Hearts Series. It picks
up to where the last one (Mangled Hearts) left off.
Cade is a recovering
alcoholic and is now doing out patient rehab. With the help of his sponsor
and his fiancée Francesca, he’s dealing with the drastic changes in his life
and fighting the urge not to drink. He’s also forced to work on repairing his
broken relationship with his dad, whom he calls Pops.
The struggle
Cade is going through with his father and his drinking problem is realistic.
Felicia did a wonderful job with portraying these two situations. I found
myself getting choked up towards the end with a scene concerning Cade and Pops.
Francesca
has her own troubles to face and overcome. She refuses to burden Cade with them
and is always there to help him through his difficult moments. She’s a strong
person, though she doesn’t realize it. Not only is she a young lawyer
who just opened up her own law firm, and the anniversary of her sister’s death
is looming over her head, her relationship with her best friend suddenly gets
fractured, devastating her.
Both Cade
and Francesca’s hardships forces them to grow and overcome the obstacles that
are thrown in their paths. Their love for one another continues to grow through
it all. I’m looking forward to reading the next installment in this series.
